Forest Owners Congratulate Senator Lincoln

WASHINGTON, DC (September 10, 2009) – The National Alliance of Forest Owners (NAFO) praised Senator Blanche Lincoln, D-AR, on her new role as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.

David P. Tenny, President and CEO, said, “NAFO congratulates Chairman Lincoln on her new role. She is a long time, proven leader in the Senate on agriculture and forestry issues, making her a natural fit. Chairman Lincoln recognizes that working forests are a vital part of America’s natural resources infrastructure – important not only to her home state of Arkansas, but to our country as a whole. She has demonstrated her appreciation for the many benefits working forests provide, from consumer products and jobs, open space, clean water and air, energy, wildlife habitat and recreation opportunities. NAFO is confident Chairman Lincoln will continue to lead the effort to promote responsible policies that will keep our forests working and productive.”
